Mr. Robert A “Bobby” Sites, 70, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, in his home, following a short illness.
Born July 22, 1952 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth “Betty” (Welsh) Sites of Waynesboro.
Bobby graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1970.
He and his wife of over 50 years, Eugenia R. (Mowen) Sites, were high school sweethearts and married on June 10, 1972, in Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
Bobby worked at Manitowoc Cranes, Shady Grove, PA as an assembler for over 30 years. He retired from the crane company in 2015. He was currently part-owner of Wee Kare Child Center, Waynesboro.
He attended services at Five Forks Church, Waynesboro and was a member of The Owl’s Club, Eagles Club, Inc., and William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. #695, all of Waynesboro. He was also a member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game, South Mountain Fish and Game, NRA, Wild Turkey Federation, and was a life member of the Harley’s Owner’s Group.
Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, working in his garage, visiting with friends on the porch and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter, Carmen Horniak and her husband, Jonathon of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Brandon Ulrich of Waynesboro, Caelin Ulrich of Waynesboro, Ashlin Ulrich of Waynesboro, Dominic Horniak of Waynesboro and Jonathon T. Horniak of Florida.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Bill Shank officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, in the funeral home.
