Rollover Accident on I-81 North Causes Traffic Shutdown

Photo and information obtained from Franklin Fire Company

At approximately 4:49 PM, emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident on I-81 North near the 19 mile marker. The accident involved one vehicle overturning, leading to a temporary shutdown of the northbound lanes.

Upon arrival, Squad 41 with six crew members and Engine 43 with four found that one vehicle had rolled onto its side. Remarkably, all occupants were able to exit the vehicle without assistance before emergency services arrived.

Squad 41 aided in patient care and cleared road debris, while Command 44 limited the response to Squad 41, Squad 7, and EMS personnel on scene. Fire police from Station 4 were deployed to manage traffic during the incident.

Northbound traffic on I-81 was disrupted as the situation was handled, but lanes reopened once the vehicles and debris were cleared from the roadway.
