Mr. Ronald Frank Stepler, 88, of Strickler Avenue, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in the home of his daughter.

He was born March 24, 1933 in Martinsburg, WV.

Following the death of his mother at the age of 5, he was raised in the Children’s Home on Franklin Street, Chambersburg, PA.

He was a graduate of Chambersburg High School with the Class of 1951 and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from June 1951 until June 1955.

Mr. Stepler began his career in the vending machine business with Canteen and later with Servomation for over 25 years. He retired in 1980 with 30 years of service.

Following his retirement, he worked with his sons in construction as well as his son-in-law, Brent Sander’s Construction. He also operated is own painting business in the Waynesboro area.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731 and was a former member of the American Legion, VFW, FOE and Eagles Club, Inc.

He is survived by three children, Kathy Sanders and her husband, Brent, Jeff Stepler and his wife, Lisa and Steven Stepler and his wife, Amy; seven grandchildren, Liz Sanders (Amy Robertson), Katie Cook (Brian), Michael Sanders (Lexa), Jason Newlin, Zach Stepler, Riley Stepler and Derek Walters; two great-grandchildren, Cam Wali and Kelsie Cook; one sister, Donna M. Stepler-Kerns (Glenn) of Camp Hill; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends including Dan and the crew at Sherwin Williams.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Eugene and Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
