Carlisle Route 74: Roundabout work starts Monday

Road work

Franklin County workers traveling north may run into a detour in Carlisle. Work starts Monday on a roundabout at the intersection of B Street and North College in Carlisle, according to PennDOT District 8.

A section of Route 74 will close as the construction of a local roundabout project begins, weather permitting. Detours will be placed. Trucks will use Route 944, Route 34, and Route 11. A pedestrian and car detour will use C Street, Franklin Street and A Street.

The completion date for the roundabout project is December 22, 2022. The intersection, including the roundabout, will open to traffic at that time.

Rogele, Inc., of Harrisburg is the prime contractor on this $6,297,458 roundabout work project.
