Roy R “Short” Seville, age 74, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

Short was born on November 8, 1947, in McConnellsburg, PA, the son of the late Merrill W. and Edith V. Keefer Seville.

Short married Connie McElhaney on April 4, 1968, in McConnellsburg, PA.

Short worked as an Equipment Operator for the PA Turnpike for 38 years. Short enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and going to auctions.

He was an active member of the Laurel Ridge Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA. Short was a quiet man but had a kind heart and would do anything for anyone in need.

Short is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie Seville of McConnellsburg, PA, two daughters, Gloria D. (wife of Troy) Brindle of North Carolina, Valerie Morrison of McConnellsburg, PA, 7 grandchildren (Elijah, Brian Jr., Andrew, Drew, Brandon, Genevieve, and Nathaniel), and 10 great grandchildren.

Short is also survived by 4 siblings, Carol E. (wife of Rick) Moats of McConnellsburg, PA, Merrill D. Seville of McConnellsburg, PA, Mark C. (husband of Judy) Seville of Chambersburg, PA and Linda J. (wife of Robert) Dickon of Virginia.

Short is preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Edith V. Seville, one son, Vaughn Seville, one son-in-law, Brian Morrison, Sr., two brothers, Harvey and Linn Seville, and one sister Daisy Burrall.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted Short’s care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA.
