Safely Dispose of Unused Prescription, Over the Counter Drugs

FRANKLIN COUNTY— Area residents have an opportunity to remove opioids and other unused medicines from homes today as part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. 

More than 18 tons of prescription drugs were disposed of across Pennsylvania in the Prescription Drug Take Back Day held last October. The initiative helps prevent unused medications ending up in the wrong hands.

Unused and/or outdated prescription and over the counter drugs can be disposed of at the following locations:

  • Chambersburg Police Dept., 116 S. Second Street
  • State Police-Troop H, 679 Franklin Farm Lane
  • Greencastle Police Dept., 60 N. Washington Street
  • Mercersburg Police Dept., 113 South Main Street
  • Washington Township Police 
    13013 Welty Road
  • Waynesboro Police Dept. 
    57 East Main Street

Franklin County Schedules Mosquito Spray For Hamilton Township

Residential and recreational areas in Hamilton Township will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes beginning around sunset on Sept. 8.  Areas to be sprayed include but are not limited to: Sollenberger Road, Johnson Road, Leedy Drive, Holly Lane, Hamilton
