Safety Recall Alert for Multiple Vehicle Models Including Jeep

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued an urgent recall notification for several vehicle models due to identified safety risks that could potentially lead to injury or death if not addressed. Vehicle owners are urged to check if their vehicles are affected and ensure necessary repairs are carried out immediately.

Affected Models and Issues:

  1. Volkswagen ID.4 (2023-2024): An improperly secured passenger airbag inflator could pose a risk during deployment. Recall ID: 24V643.
  2. Jeep Gladiator (2020-2024) and Jeep Wrangler (2018-2024): Failures in the instrument panel could interfere with the vehicle’s compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 101. Recall ID: 24V652.
  3. RAM 1500 (2019, 2021-2024): An issue that could disable the electronic stability control, failing to comply with FMVSS 126. Recall ID: 24V653.

Recall Process: A recall is initiated when a manufacturer or the NHTSA finds that a vehicle poses an unreasonable risk to safety or does not meet minimum safety standards. Manufacturers are required to fix the safety defect by repair, replacement, refund, or, in rare cases, repurchase.

Next Steps for Vehicle Owners:

  • Check Vehicle Eligibility: Use the NHTSA’s VIN Look-up Tool to determine if your vehicle is directly affected.
  • Immediate Action: If your vehicle is included in the recall, contact your dealer as soon as possible to arrange for the necessary repairs at no cost.
  • Further Information: Owners should expect to receive a notification letter from the vehicle manufacturer detailing the recall and instructions for the remedy. If no letter is received but your vehicle is affected, contact NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or get in touch with your manufacturer or dealership.

Vehicle owners receiving this notification are advised to take swift action to correct the defect to prevent any potential accidents or injuries.
