Ms. Sally A Rowe (Weikert), 79, of Greencastle, PA passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born November 21, 1942 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oliver E. Weikert, Jr. and Helen (Kennedy) Weikert.

She graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1960.

As a teenager, Ms. Rowe worked at Appalachian Nursery, Waynesboro, from 1953-1958. She was later employed at the Frick Company, Allman, MacBride & Painter, Stanley Manufacturing, Waynesboro Knitting Mill, and several other manufacturing businesses. She retired from Fort Detrick, MD and U.S. Coast Guard, Falling Waters, WV.

She was a member of Otterbein Church, Waynesboro, where she was a member of the choir & worship team and served as choir treasurer. She was also a member of the National AARP; Women’s International Bowling Congress, where she served as treasurer, National Notary Association and PA Notary. She served in Belize for 2 weeks as a missionary in 2006 and in Honduras for 1 week as a missionary in 2016.

She is survived by three children, Mary K. Potter and her husband, Todd of Greencastle, Laura R. Hade of Waynesboro and Charlene A. Zarger and her husband, Barry of Greencastle; a grandson who she raised, Jason Hade of Greencastle; 6 additional grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cindy Stull of Waynesboro, Margie Prutzman of Reading, PA and Peggy Schaad of Reading; two brothers, Oliver Weikert, III of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Robert Weikert of Fairfield, PA and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in Otterbein Church, 912 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro with Pastor Dave Besecker officiating.

Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Wednesday morning, in the church.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
