Samuel “Sam” M Gardner, age 74, of Chambersburg PA, passed away on January 21, 2023.

He was born November 6, 1948 in Waynesboro. Sam graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School in 1966.

Early in his working career he began at the former J.J. Newberry Co. In 1969, he began at Grove-Manitowoc Crane where he was Director of Sales until retiring in 2014 after nearly 45 years of employment.

Sam enjoyed traveling, the Beach, watching sports on T.V., and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Aaron M. Gardner Sr. & wife Sandi, daughter Andrea M. Fuller-Myers & husband Heath, and step-daughter Jody Noel & husband Greg; his grandchildren Aaron “A.J.” M. Gardner Jr., Brittany Lohman & husband Nick, Spencer Fuller, Morgan Gardner, Zach Noel, Josh Noel, and Matt Noel; his great-grandchildren Gracelyn Lohman and Melanie Gardner; sister-in-law Karen Gardner; niece, Heather Haney; nephew, Chris Gardner; and former spouse Iris (Bonner) Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond “Pinky” Gardner and Wanda (Hartman) Gardner; his twin brother Douglas “Doug” Gardner; and was widowed from wife Vicki (Horn) Gardner.

Services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Casey Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday afternoon, in the funeral home.
