According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), school buses are among the safest vehicles on the road. Millions of children ride school buses every day, but the greatest risk to students occurs when they are getting on or off the bus.
NHTSA emphasizes that drivers and parents should be especially cautious during pick-up and drop-off times.
