Scoop-a-Palooza becomes a “Ice Cream Trail” this year with visits to local vendors, prizes and special virtual events lasting throughout July. The event is the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation’s annual ice cream festival, sponsored by ACNB Bank.

Scoop-a-Palooza Ice Cream Trail happens this year July 1-31.

Join the fun by following a downloadable trail map to local ice cream shops. Then take pictures of your sweet treats to enter to win prizes.

Children 3-12 can participate in a Scoop Kids coloring contest sponsored by Orrstown Bank. Foundry Artist Co-op created a printable coloring sheet just fo te event. It will be downloadable soon, then printed and colored to be entered in the contest.

Cancel the ‘Scoop’? No way!

“Scoop is a long-standing favorite in the community that The Foundation could not bear to cancel,” Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Chamber Foundation, said.

This year Scoop challenges the community to support local participating ice cream vendors safely. itvwill make social distancing a fun way to try all the best ice cream in the area.

“We are so excited to offer this modified, yet still delicious, event,” Harringer said. “(We) appreciate all the sponsors and local vendors who have agreed to help us make it happen.”

Otheer sponsors include DCB Law, Patriot Federal Credit Union, Occupational Services, Inc., SEK, CPAs & Advisors, Starr Insurance, Superior Floorcoverings & Kitchens and others.
