Senator Casey Secures $4.5M for PA Energy Cost Reductions

U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has announced that $4,537,255 in federal funds will be directed toward lowering energy costs for farmers and small businesses across Pennsylvania. The funding, provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), is made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act.

The funds will be used for installing solar photovoltaic systems, which will help convert solar energy into electricity to reduce energy costs. Additionally, one Pennsylvania dairy farm will use the funds to install a new engine for its anaerobic digester. These upgrades are expected to save Pennsylvanians thousands of dollars annually.
