SHIP U.’s Cailin Spelman named PSAC Eastern Division Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of Week

Shippensburg University junior defender Cailin Spelman was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Spelman scored one goal in each of Shippensburg’s first two games as the Raiders opened the season with a 1-0-1 record.

She scored Shippensburg’s second goal in a 2-2 draw against West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday. Spelman scored again Saturday in a 6-0 win at Lackawanna.

Shippensburg’s defense did not allow Lackawanna to record a shot on goal in the victory.

Spelman’s two goals increased her career total to four.

The award is the first weekly PSAC honor of Spelman’s career. She is the first Shippensburg player to earn PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honors since Kirstin Brown on Nov. 3, 2025.

Franklin County Schedules Mosquito Spray For Hamilton Township
