Shippensburg University junior defender Nate Herb was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Herb scored twice on headers in Shippensburg’s 3-1 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday. His first goal came on a Mathieu Barbirati corner kick in the 13th minute. He scored again on an Evan Brandt free kick in the 38th minute, helping the Raiders take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Herb also played at center back as Shippensburg limited Bloomsburg to two shots on goal in the second half. The win was the Raiders’ first against Bloomsburg since 2019, and the match was Herb’s first with two goals.
This is Herb’s first weekly PSAC honor and the first PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week award for a Shippensburg men’s soccer player since Ryan Krumenacker received it in September 2024.
