Shippensburg School District Releases 2026-27 Transportation Information

The Shippensburg Area School District has released transportation information for the 2026-27 school year.

Families who have moved should verify their address in Skyward and complete the district’s address change process. Parents requesting child care transportation must submit a new Child Care Request Form each school year, even if arrangements have not changed.

Families with split custody must provide an updated custody calendar showing which weeks the student stays with each parent. Babysitter or child care arrangements associated with each residence should also be included.

Kindergarten students must have an approved adult or older sibling at the bus stop. Students without an authorized person present will be returned to school.

The elementary school walk zone is one-half mile from school grounds. The walk zone for middle and high school students is 1.5 miles from school grounds and ends at Earl Street.

Transportation requests are due Aug. 3, 2026. Requests submitted after the deadline may not be processed before the first day of school.

Students should be ready at their bus stop 10 minutes before and up to 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup or drop-off time. Bus times may change during the first two weeks of school because of traffic, weather or route conditions.

The district uses the EZ Arrival app to provide transportation assignments, pickup and drop-off times, bus stop locations and notifications about delays or transportation updates. Families are encouraged to enable notifications and use the app when possible.

Families without the app will receive route information by email from traveltrackerouting@app-garden.com. The district advises families to check spam or junk folders if the message is not received.

Transportation information in Skyward may not update as quickly as information in EZ Arrival. Initial assignments displayed in the app may change until routes are finalized.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
