Shippensburg’s Elaina Fragassi named NFHCA Division II Offensive Athlete of the Week

Shippensburg University junior Elaina Fragassi was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Offensive Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Fragassi scored all three of Shippensburg’s goals during a 2-0 week, including the lone goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win over No. 1-ranked Kutztown.

In Wednesday’s 2-1 overtime win at Millersville, she scored less than three minutes into the match and added the winning goal on a penalty corner 1:33 into overtime. It was her league-leading sixth game-winning goal of the season.

The Allentown native also earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday.

This is Fragassi’s first national award and Shippensburg’s first NFHCA offensive weekly honor since McKenna Boyle received the award on Nov. 12, 2025.

Fragassi is the second Shippensburg player recognized nationally this season. First-year goalkeeper Liv Schweighart earned NFHCA Division II Defensive Athlete of the Week honors on Sept. 16.
