Mrs. Shirley Ann Chidboy (Brown), 71, of South Mountain, PA, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born February 20, 1950 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl, Sr. and Lillian (Ressler) Brown.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Stanley Paul Chidboy, were married May 16, 1967. They were married for 45 years when Stanley passed away May 27, 2012.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of South Mountain. A devoted mother and grandmother, she especially treasured time spent with family. She enjoyed watching reruns of the Waltons and listening to the music of Loretta Lynn and Elvis Presley. She also loved crocheting, cooking and fishing.

She is survived by three children, Shirley Ann Cole and her husband, Robert of Waynesboro, Michael Lynn Chidboy and his wife, Peggy of Mont Alto, PA and Todd Paul Chidboy and his wife, Mary of South Mountain; five grandchildren, Amber Lynn (Chidboy) Moore of Chambersburg, Devin L. McGlaughlin of Waynesboro, Emily Rose Chidboy of Mont Alto, Kayla Nicole Chidboy of Waynesboro and Ethan Daniel Chidboy of South Mountain; nine siblings, Esther Kauffman of Gettysburg, PA, Betty Wade of Cascade, MD, Della Nieves of McSherrystown, PA, Linda Brown of Zullinger, PA, Donna Green of South Mountain, Bonnie Noll of Waynesboro, Ronald Brown of Fairfield, PA and Carl “Eddie” Brown and Gary Brown, both of South Mountain; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene “Cotton” Brown; and five brothers, Joseph Brown, Earl J. Brown, Jr., Robert Brown, Roy Brown and Ray Willie Brown.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Colin Morley officiating.

Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
