Six Recalls Cover Laminators, Bedside Sleepers and Other Products

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced six recalls Oct. 15 involving fire, entrapment, suffocation, laceration and other hazards. Consumers should stop using the affected products and follow the companies’ instructions for refunds or repairs.

Scotch Thermal Laminators

3M Company recalled about 53,634 Scotch thermal laminators because they can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Consumers should immediately unplug the recalled laminators and complete the online recall registration form. After confirming their laminator is included, consumers must upload a photograph showing the unplugged power cord cut. Refund checks will be mailed after the completed form and confirmation are received.

The laminators should be disposed of according to state and local electronics recycling laws. For assistance, call 800-772-4337.

Loving Thyself Rocks Crystal Glass Cups

Loving Thyself Rocks recalled about 600 crystal glass cups because glass can break inside them during use, posing ingestion and laceration hazards.

Consumers should stop using the cups and register at lovingthyselfrocks.com/recall for a full refund to their original payment method. The process requires a photograph showing “RECALL” written on the front of the cup in permanent black marker and confirmation of proper disposal under the company’s instructions.

Questions can be emailed to lovingthyselfrocks@gmail.com.

Papablic Convertible Bedside Sleepers

Papablic recalled about 248 convertible bedside sleepers with play yard extensions that violate the mandatory safety standard for play yards.

The mattress can become displaced, trapping a baby between the sleeping pad and bottom and posing a suffocation hazard. The latching and locking mechanism can also fail, causing the product to collapse and creating entrapment and fall hazards.

Consumers should stop using the sleepers, disassemble them, cut the mattress and fabric components in half, and email photographs of the destroyed components to support@papablic.com. Papablic will issue a full refund after receiving proof of destruction. Consumers should then dispose of the product.

Xalirium Portable Bed Rails

usOpal recalled about 200 Xalirium adult portable bed rails because users can become trapped within the rail or between the rail and mattress, posing a risk of death from asphyxiation.

The rails also fail structural stability and retention strap requirements, creating a fall hazard, and lack required hazard warning labels.

Consumers should stop using the rails, cut the black storage bag and straps, cut the foam padding, and write “RECALLED” on the upper and lower rails. A photograph of the marked rails must be sent to xaliriumofficial@outlook.com for a full refund. Consumers should then dispose of the product.

HatsanUSA Blitz Air Rifles

HatsanUSA recalled about 16,170 Blitz air rifles because they can fire unexpectedly when the bolt is released before the rifle is fully cocked, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

Consumers should stop using the rifles, make sure they are unloaded and contact HatsanUSA for a free trigger assembly replacement with instructions. Consumers who prefer company installation can request prepaid packaging to send the rifle to HatsanUSA for inspection and replacement.

Primark Children’s Coin Purses

Primark recalled about 2,100 101 Dalmatians faux leather children’s coin purses because they contain elevated phthalate concentrations. Sufficient exposure, including through ingestion, can be harmful to young children. Certain phthalates have been associated with adverse effects on development and the hormone system.

Consumers should stop using the purses, keep them away from children and return them to a Primark store for a full refund to their original payment method.
