The Pennsylvania Senate has adopted Senate Resolution 94, establishing a statewide Task Force on Recruitment and Retention of Law Enforcement. The resolution, sponsored by Senators Wayne Langerholc and Joe Picozzi, directs the Joint State Government Commission to create the task force.
Attorney General Dave Sunday will serve as chairperson of the task force, which will focus on addressing staffing shortages across police departments, sheriff’s offices, corrections departments, and prosecutors’ offices. The group is tasked with developing policy recommendations to improve recruitment and retention in these critical public safety roles.
Attorney General Sunday thanked the Senate for advancing the initiative, citing widespread staffing concerns reported by law enforcement leaders throughout the state.
