Late on Sunday evening, the NCAA Tournament field was announced on ncaa.com, revealing that the Shippensburg University women’s basketball team has been selected as the Atlantic Region’s No. 4 seed. This marks the team’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2016-17 season and its 10th in school history.
The team has an 11-9 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament, with its most recent loss occurring on March 10, 2017, against Mercyhurst in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship. In this year’s tournament, the Raiders will face West Virginia State, and the Atlantic Region Women’s Championship will take place from Friday to Monday at Glenville State, the No. 1 seed.
