Shippensburg University: Swimming teams recognized for scholastic excellence
Shippensburg University swimming teams were recognized for their scholastic excellence in 2020; in spite of a pandemic that cut short most sports activity and put students in virtual classes.
The women’s and men’s swimming teams have been named Fall 2020 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams; once again sustaining their long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
Shippensburg’s women posted a 3.66 team GPA for the fall semester, ranking second among schools in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The women’s squad was one of 10 PSAC schools recognized.
Shippensburg’s men posted a 3.20 team GPA for the fall semester. The men’s squad was one of six PSAC schools recognized.
The Scholar All-America Team award goes to college swimming and diving teams that achieve a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester.
