Three persons suffered burns when an oxygen machine caught fire and exploded in a second-story apartment on Tolbert Avenue Sunday afternoon.
Jerry Townsend is accused of setting fire to a vehicle parked in the first block of West Queen Street at 10:47 last night.
The first four days of December saw area first responders called out to one fire and several vehicle crashes, including one into a Wayne Avenue storefront.
Fire and rescue crews were kept busy this week, responding to a school bus-car crash, a crash that put the front end of a car into a building at an animal shelter and smoke but no fires.
Area fire departments responded to crashes and fire calls the past week. Whether it is a vehicle crash, just burned food left cooking on a stove burner, a more serious fire or a “good intent” call, area firefighters are quick to respond.

Responding were Chambersburg Fire Department on the initial alarm, then Franklin, Marion, New Franklin and Letterkenny Fire Departments. Geisinger EMS was also on the scene.
