Mrs. Theresa Ann Reese (Byrne), 92, of Sheely Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Waynesboro Hospital.

Born September 16, 1929 in Patton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Delphine (McConnell) Byrne.

Mrs. Reese was a graduate of Cresson High School with the Class of 1947.

She served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Curtis L. Reese, were married January 7, 1956. They were married for 54 years when he passed away June 2, 2010.

In her early life, Mrs. Reese was employed by the Patton, PA Shirt Factory. Following her military service, she began employment with the Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington DC. She later worked at Milmark in Crofton, MD and H & R Block in Laurel, MD. Prior to her retirement January 3, 1992, she was again employed by the Department of Defense at Fort Meade, MD.

She was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro and National AARP.

Mrs. Reese is survived by six children, David L. Reese of Beltsville, MD, Charles A. Reese of Herndon, VA, Jean E. George of Greencastle, PA, Nancy M. Reese of Millersville, MD, Steven J. Reese of Bowie, MD and Annette C. Schneider of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glatha Eckenrode of Gallitzen, PA and Celie Hoyle of Greencastle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Joseph Byrne, Mary Beach, Roy Byrne, Daniel Byrne, Ted Byrne, Larry Byrne and Carolyn Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro with the Rev. Christopher Onyeneke officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg, PA

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
