Shippensburg University senior men’s swimmer Trevor Woolwine was named Thursday afternoon to the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team, an award that recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Woolwine graduated from Shippensburg this month with a degree in mathematics and secondary teaching certification while maintaining a 3.953 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). At the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, Woolwine individually scored in two events – placing 11th in the 100-yard backstroke (53.20, 52.95p) and 14th in the 100-yard freestyle (46.96). He was also a part of four scoring relays for the Raiders, including a fourth-place finish with the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.02) and sixth-place finishes with the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, and 800-yard freestyle relays.
For his career, Woolwine graduates as a nine-time PSAC Championships individual placewinner, including three times in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke, two times in the 100-yard freestyle and once in the 200-yard IM.
He is the first SU men’s swimmer named to the Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team since Shaun Smith in 2017.
Men’s At-Large Categories
The men’s At-Large category includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, rowing, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
District 2 includes all schools from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Woolwine is now among those eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America ® At-Large Team that will be announced June 14.
