LURGAN (Oct. 4, 2019) — Lurgan Elementary teacher Trina Snoke has been nominated by Principal Paul Swope to attend the PAECT Keystone Technology Innovators Summit Lurgan held at Shippensburg University.

Each school principal in Pennsylvania can nominate a teacher for Keystone recognition. Nominees may then apply to attend Summit.  

Snoke was chosen through a portfolio-based application which demonstrated her passion for education and technology.  She is a creative, innovative teacher who embraces best practices and technology integration in her classroom.

Snoke will work with Swope and Lurgan teachers to advocate the use of technology as a tool to nurture the intellect, innovation, and imagination of students. 

The Summit is a week-long event where teachers spend time working in groups, attending teaching and technology-driven workshops and building personal learning networks (PLN). 

Additional Highlights From the Summit Include:

  • Keynote speakers.
  • Edcamp or unconference sessions.
  • A STEAM hands-on event where participants engaged in 3D printing, coding, and robotics.

The Pennsylvania Association for Educational Technology and Communications (PAECT) organizes the KTI Summit. PAECT has a membership of over 450 educators from across Pennsylvania.
