U.S. Vehicle Safety Recalls Announced by NHTSA

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recently issued several vehicle safety recalls across various manufacturers due to potential safety hazards that could pose risks to passengers and drivers. Vehicle owners are urged to check if their vehicles are affected and to seek repairs, which are available at no cost from dealers, to mitigate any risks of injury or death.

Key Recalls Issued:

  • Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. has recalled certain 2022-2024 Audi Q4 E-Tron models because of incorrect headlight software that may not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 108).
  • Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is recalling 2018-2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles due to issues with the rearview camera image not displaying, breaching FMVSS 111 requirements.
  • General Motors, LLC has issued a recall for the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado for having incorrectly installed tires, potentially violating FMVSS 110 and 138.
  • Ford Motor Company has recalled the 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator due to problems with the rearview camera image not displaying correctly.
  • Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC has announced multiple recalls, including one for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 due to improperly routed seat wiring harnesses, and another for various 2023-2025 models like the Mercedes-Benz EQE and EQS lines because of potential unexpected shutdowns of the high-voltage battery.
  • Tesla, Inc.‘s recall affects 2017-2023 Model 3, 2012-2024 Model S, 2015-2024 Model X, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles because of a malfunction in the seat belt warning system, violating FMVSS 208.

Owners of the recalled vehicles are encouraged to utilize the NHTSA’s VIN Look-up Tool to verify if their vehicle is affected by these recalls. Upon confirmation, they should expect to receive a notification letter from the vehicle’s manufacturer with further instructions on how to proceed with repairs.

For more information or if further assistance is needed, vehicle owners can contact NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or get in touch with their respective vehicle manufacturer or dealership.

These corrective measures are essential to ensure the safety of all road users and to comply with national safety standards. Vehicle owners are advised to address these recalls promptly to prevent any potential accidents or injuries.
