Waynesboro Man Charged After Alleged Assault On Child

A Waynesboro man is facing charges after police said he punched and choked a child during an incident at a home earlier this month.

Cameron Christian Levi Radabaugh, 38, of Waynesboro, was charged with felony endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor simple assault, according to Waynesboro Police.

Police said the incident happened Thursday, May 15, at a home in the 1400 block of West North Street in Waynesboro.

Officers were called to Waynesboro Area Senior High School around 7:27 a.m. after staff reported that a juvenile student arrived at school with visible injuries, according to court documents.

The student told police that Radabaugh became angry while looking for a phone and punched him multiple times in the face and neck. The student also reported that Radabaugh grabbed him around the neck and nearly caused him to lose consciousness, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said the child had visible injuries to his forehead, face and neck. He was taken to WellSpan Hospital in Waynesboro for treatment.

Court documents also allege Radabaugh pushed the child to the ground by his neck and threatened to beat him again after school when the child refused to go to school.

Police said the child reported prior alleged abuse by Radabaugh.

Radabaugh was arraigned May 15 before Magisterial District Judge Kristin D. Nicklas. Court records show he was initially unable to post $2,500 bail and was held at Franklin County Prison until May 18, when bail was posted by a professional bondsman.

A preliminary hearing, originally scheduled for May 26, was continued to June 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Franklin County Central Court.
