Aaron Joseph Walton Sr. has been taken into custody on charges of felony conspiracy to commit forgery, one count of misdemeanor receiving stolen property, and three counts of misdemeanor drug possession.
On February 28th, a search warrant was executed on a home on Pratt Court in Waynesboro, leading to the arrest of Walton and two other individuals. During the initial entrance, police seized an illegal firearm from one of the individuals, along with a Ruger LCP Max 380, a glass crack pipe, suspected stolen mail, two key rings, multiple drug paraphernalia items, and three digital scales.
After the search, Walton was interviewed by Special Agent Symeonidis and US Postal Inspector Kasian. During the interview, Walton allegedly admitted to knowing about stolen mail from town and mentioned a man named “Jay”, who allegedly received mail directly from the mailman in exchange for drugs.
Walton Sr. also allegedly confirmed that a check-washing operation was conducted at the Pratt Court home and that he had seen Jay altering and cashing checks.
Antionette McKennie, who is allegedly Jay’s girlfriend, also claimed to have seen the mailman pass off mail twice at the Pratt Court home. McKennie is currently in custody on other charges related to marijuana and THC edibles.
This investigation is ongoing and involves the theft of checks, mail, and the distribution of controlled substances. Walton is being held on $500,000 bail.
