WellSpan Evangelical Receives Grant for Cancer Center Infusion Chairs

WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital has received a grant from the Ralph and Josephine Smith Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania to support its future cancer center.

The grant will be used to purchase infusion chairs for the cancer center being developed as part of WellSpan Health’s expansion of oncology services in the Central Susquehanna Valley.

The infusion chairs will be used by patients receiving cancer treatments at the facility. WellSpan said the local cancer center is intended to increase access to treatment closer to patients’ families and support systems while reducing the need to travel for care.

Allen Fasnacht, vice president of WellSpan Health and president of WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, thanked the foundation and the Ralph and Josephine Smith Fund for supporting cancer care in the region.
