WellSpan Radiologist Explains Mammography Callbacks

WellSpan Health shared information from Dr. John Nawa, a WellSpan radiologist, addressing why patients may receive a call after a screening mammogram.

According to Dr. Nawa, a callback does not necessarily mean cancer is suspected. Additional imaging is often requested to clarify unclear areas or confirm normal findings. The follow-up may include more mammogram images or an ultrasound to ensure accurate results.
