William Franklin Washinger Jr. 1934~2020
William “Bill” Franklin Washinger, Jr., age 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his residence.
He was born January 6, 1934 in Oakville, the son of the late William Franklin, Sr., and Grace L. (Holtry) Washinger.
William graduated from Shippensburg High School.
He worked as a weaver at Richard Textile for ten years. He then worked at Sunoco until his retirement.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed racing with go-carts and sprint cars. Every year he looked forward to going to see the Daytona 500 in Florida.
William is survived by his son, Douglas R. Washinger of Shippensburg; daughter, Brenda L. (Tony McCurdy) Washinger of Camp Hill; grandson, Korey C. (Jen R.) Washinger of Catawba, NC; granddaughter, Drista N. Morris of Shippensburg; three great-granddaughters, Shealyn R. Morris, Alona L. Morris and Karizma R. Washinger and two brothers, Robert Washinger of Camp Hill and Ray Washinger of Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. (Gutshall) Washinger, who passed April 2018; son, Stanley E. Washinger; brother, Richard Washinger and sister, Margaret Tritt.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 31 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA with Pastor John D. Culbertson officiating.
A Public Viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until time of services.
Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
