The Wilson College Phoenix trounced foe Clarks Summit University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup Monday night. The Phoenix (4-4, 2-0 CSAC) spread the wealth in the basketball game against the Defenders (3-9, 1-2 CSAC); with 13 different players scoring to secure the win 97-44.
How It Happened
The Phoenix started the game by winning the jump ball followed by a quick pass. That caught the Defenders off guard to earn a quick layup and the first basket of the game. Wilson had hot hands to start the game. The Phoenix drained three consecutive three-pointers by three different players in two minutes of play. In the first half, the Phoenix scored 50% of their threes and 62% from the floor to push the score to 52-18.
In the second half, the Defenders did their best against the Phoenix offense, but Wilson continued to score. Junior Kennedy Birdwell (Temple Hills, MD., Fairmont Heights) subbed into the game with nine minutes left and started scoring immediately, earning himself three three-pointers within 30 seconds.
The Phoenix finished the game with a 97-44 victory over the Defenders
