How It Happened

Delaware Valley started the match off hot, scoring in the third minute of the match. Shortly after, freshman Rebecca Marakovitz (New Market, MD, Linganore High School) defended against a flurry of Aggie attacks that kept the score at 1-0.

Wilson had a corner kick late in the first half but could not find the back of the net, as they marched into halftime trailing 1-0.

Delaware Valley opened up the second half with a few shots that were wide of the net; as the Phoenix looked to get back into the match.

In the sixty-second minute of play, the Aggies notched their second goal of the match, extending their lead to 2-0. Later, freshman Rachel Coulter (Woodbridge, VA, Gar-field) tallied the first shot for Wilson, but the Delaware Valley keeper saved the shot.

A few minutes later, the Aggies added another goal as the Phoenix came up short, falling by a score of 3-0.
