Penn State : Wins Championship Game One and Two


Penn State Mont Alto played in the PSUAC Championship against Penn State DuBois. Penn State Mont Alto took both wins and captures PSUAC title.

What Happened

Game One:

  • Caiden Smith provided the insurance once again on the weekend with a two RBI single, Jared Pine and Brady Bigler scored on the hit. Penn State Mont Alto took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th.
  • Penn State DuBois wouldn’t go away as they plated two runs in the home half of the sixth inning. Bryce Dobson provided a sacrifice fly and Brandon Sicheri scored Tyler Yough on a RBI groundout. Penn State Mont Alto led 4-2 after six complete.
  • Starter Trystan Housman earned the victory in game one, going 5+ innings while striking out three.

Game Two:

  • The game remained scoreless through five innings of play as each team had three hits to that point.
  • Penn State Mont Alto starter Matt Huston toed the rubber for the seventh and final inning, completing his outing with two groundouts to end the game. Huston went seven strong innings, allowing three hits and striking out four batters.
