Shippensburg University head tennis coach Sheila Bush has confirmed the recruitment of four student-athletes who have enrolled in the university and will suit up for the Raider program during the 2023-24 season.
These individuals have signed either national letters of intent (NLIs) or institutional letters expressing their desire to play women’s tennis at Shippensburg.
“Raider Women’s Tennis is very excited to welcome our four freshmen,” Coach Bush stated. “The skills they bring will add solid depth to our team this season.”
The 2023-24 recruiting class is set to make its debut Friday, Sept. 8 at home against Chestnut Hill.

Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area
Hollidaysburg Area High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Tigers under head coach Brian Denis…competed in No. 2 singles…qualified for district doubles all four years…reached district singles as a senior…placed runner-up twice for the district team title…led the Tigers to a conference championship…was a member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society.
About Gallagher: Full name is Rachel Marie Gallagher…is the daughter of Richard and Elaine Gallagher…majoring in business administration…has two brothers: Jacob and Trent, and a sister: Kaylie…five immediate family members have all graduated from or are currently attending Ship: Elaine (’89), Richard (’88), Kaylie (’19), Jacob (’23) and Trent (’26)…sister Kaylie was a member of the Shippensburg University women’s tennis team.
Janelle Kingsboro

Lancaster, Pa./Donegal
Donegal High School: Lettered for the Indians under coaches Trent Hoffmasters and Pam Kaylor…posted a 7-2 record in singles as a senior…went 7-3 in singles and 6-5 in doubles competition as a junior…graduated with a 4.2 GPA…a member of the National Honor Society.
About Kingsboro: Full name is Janelle Kingsboro…is the daughter of Scott and Autumn Kingsboro…majoring in exploratory studies,,,family members Scott Kingsboro (Class of ’94), William Stoffel (Class of ’69) and Carol Smith (Class of ’69) graduated from Shippensburg.

Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity
Trinity High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Shamrocks under coach Tony Cooper…team captain…a four-time Mid Penn Conference medalist, winning singles gold as a junior and doubles gold as a senior and a sophomore…twice named a conference Second Team All-Star…competed in No. 2 singles a senior, helping the Shamrocks to a 14-2 record…won the clinching match that sent her team to states…helped the Shamrocks reach the state quarterfinals (7th place)…helped Trinity to a 38-5 record in her final three seasons…named to the honor roll all four years…graduated with a 3.7 GPA.
About Orris: Full name is Brinley Anna Orris…is the daughter of Scott and Pamela Orris…majoring in political science with a concentration in international political science.
