Morgan Yiengst is Franklin County’s January Employee of the month. She was presented with the award recently by the Franklin County Commissioners. A county employee since August of 2016, she currently serves as the Human Resources (HR) Generalist in charge of Employee Benefits. 

“Morgan shows compassion, kindness, and respect to all she comes into contact with,” co-workers say of her. “She deals with very difficult situations and consistently and willingly helps those around her.”

Yiengst’s job “is anything but easy” right now those around her say. But she starts each day with a great attitude and has persevered through all of the uncertainty the past year and its pandemic has brought.

“Morgan was an amazing help through the entire [Family Medical Leave Act] process from start to finish,” one county employee said. “She was always available to talk to when I had questions about anything; and always answered in such a friendly manner. She was a wealth of information and offered her help in any way possible. She followed up on every conversation we ever had and made sure I understood everything. Morgan is an asset to HR and Franklin County, too.”  

Yiengst has been managing all of the county’s employees during the COVID-19 health crisis. She keeps track of all county staff to ensure that each department is safe.

Going the extra mile to help

County employees talk in glowing terms about the way she interacts and responds to help them and insure their ability to stay safe and healthy.

“Morgan has gone beyond her normal job responsibilities,” one employee said. “(She) responds to all emails and questions in a timely manner. She even responds to concerns that happen after work hours, including weekends. Morgan has been extremely helpful with our department and helping me to manage staffing during this pandemic.” 

Yiengst’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by her peers, Commissioners said. The nomination forms describe her as being professional, responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable. She also exhibits perseverance, compassion and adaptability.  

Her bosses point to the high standard of customer service, excellence, and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County that she provides.

That, they say, also made her a top candidate for the Employee of the Month award.
