Jefferson (2-4-2) tied it in the 44th minute on Imran Sekagya’s goal which came off a rebound.

Freshmen goalkeeper Ryan Glenlast (Lancaster, Pa./Pequea Valley) had six saves in his fourth consecutive start for Shippensburg, while Ram goalkeeper Matteo Crescente had seven saves.

There were 11 cards issued in the match: six to Jefferson and five to Shippensburg. The final 29 minutes of the match were played 10-on-10, as both teams had one player dismissed during the match as a result of being assessed two yellow cards.

This was the first meeting between the two teams since 1996 and just the second time that SU has ever posted a result against Jefferson – both results being ties. It is also the fourth time in five home contests this season that the Raiders have played into overtime.

Shippensburg will play again at 2 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division opponent Slippery Rock at David See Field.
