Free Family Fun Event: Learn & Play Day with United Way on May 21

United Way of Franklin County is hosting a free, family-fun event with over 40 kids’ activities on Saturday, May 21 from 10am to 2pm at LifePoint Church, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. Volvo Construction Equipment is the presenting sponsor.

Learn & Play Day with United Way features inflatable playgrounds, tractor barrel rides, Touch-A-Truck, the Book Buggy, story times, arts and crafts, a fun and fit area, and much more. Enjoy tons of giveaways including vendor swag, door prizes, and healthy kids treats. WAYZ 104.7 will be live broadcasting from the event.

Contributing to the kids’ activities at the event will be education, healthcare, childcare, and human service providers. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers of young children (age 0-8) as well as expecting parents will have access to information about providers’ services and local family resources while their children enjoy the fun.

A day of free fun together

“When a child succeeds in school, everyone wins. Our hope is Learn & Play Day will give families a day of free fun together while also connecting them with information and resources to aid in their child’s development in a welcoming, no-pressure environment,” said Amy Hicks, Executive Director of United Way of Franklin County.

Additionally, there will be a COVID Vaccination Clinic onsite, hosted by South Central Medical Reserve Corps. Both adult and pediatric (kids age 5 and older) doses will be available (boosters included). Free vision screenings will also be provided by the Chambersburg Evening Lions Club.
