Meet Nova and Jared, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. Nova and Jared are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes, and while Nova and Jared would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also.
Go to the Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.
CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.
Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.
Adoptions by appointment
Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.
The staff’s first priority is the animals in their care. Staffers and volunteers working at the shelter have to stay healthy to care for the animals properly.
So even though Franklin County is now in the green phase of the COVID-19 mitigation, CVAS is still only allowing the public to visit the shelter by appointment.
Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.
So now meet the sweet and friendly Nova and Jared!

Nova is a sweet girl who needs a forever home

Nova was surrendered to the shelter because she was not getting along with the other dogs in the home. She’s a very sweet girl who needs to be the only dog in her new home.
She loves attention from humans and playing in the yard. Because of her size and energy level, an age restriction for children may apply, so be sure to talk to staff about that.
Nova is a sweet girl that just wants to be with her people and hopes to find her forever home soon!

Do you have the right spot for Jared?

Jared came into the shelter with 14 other rats. He’s an adult, hairless albino rat who can be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s a sweet boy.
One way to his heart is definitely with cookies! Do you have the right spot for Jared?
