PennDOT road work: Pipe replacement delayed in Shippensburg

A pipe replacement project on Route 11 at Route 174 in Shippensburg Township, Cumberland County will not take place this weekend as planned.

PennDOT will announce a new work date once the work is rescheduled, according to PennDOT’s Fred Thompson.

The pipe replacement work is part of a 4.57-mile resurfacing project from Morris Street at the Franklin County line in Shippensburg Borough to Foltz Road/Kline Road in Southampton Township.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. The website is free and available 24 hours a day. It provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

There is also a smartphone app available for iPhone and Android devices. The public can obtain information by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
