Shooting suspect still at large
A Chambersburg man wanted in last month’s shooting in a Liberty Street parking lot is still at large, according to online court records.
Jayluen DeAndre Childs, 25, is charged with attempted homicide in the Aug. 24 shooting. Childs was targeting a specific person when he ambushed a group of three men at 10:43 p.m. in a parking lot at the rear of 93 W. Liberty Street, police said.

Police sought a warrant for Child’s arrest four days later.
Childs faces the following charges, once taken into custody:
- Attempted homicide, (H1) 1 count;
- Aggravated assault, with the intent to cause bodily harm , 1 count, a first degree felony;
- Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Structures, 1 count, a third degree felony;
- Recklessly Endangering Another Person, 23 counts, second degree misdemeanors.

The shooting was an isolated incident, limited to specific individuals, police said.
