PSP: Spring Run man killed in ATV crash
A Spring Run man was killed Thursday when he was thrown from his Can-Am ATV after it hit an embankment in Fannett Township.
Alex W. Wadel, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:35 p.m. crash on Goshorn Road, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Levi D. Brady, 23, Willow Hill, a passenger in the two-seat vehicle, escaped injury. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.
Wadel, who was driving the ATV, was entering Goshorn Road from a private road when the vehicle hit an embankment and rolled end-over-end.
A New York man and three 11-year-old girls in his Ford Transit van escaped injury when the van hit a guide rail at I-81 mile marker 21 in Greene Township Dec. 27.
Although the van was disabled in the mishap, Gabriel A. Bencosme, 50, of New York City, and his passengers escaped uninjured. Everyone in the van was wearing seatbelts.
Bencosme was traveling north on I-81 at 2:06 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of the van. It hit the guide rail on the left shoulder of the road.
Adams County crash
A Biglerville woman and her dog escaped with minor injuries after she ran a stop sign in Straban Township and collided with another vehicle, state police said.
Mackenzie A. Truhan, 23, of Biglerville, was traveling south on Granite Station Road when she failed to stop at the intersection with Shrivers Corner Road. Her Ford Escape collided with a Chevrolet Sonic driven by Tina L. Glatfelter, 48, of New Oxford. Glatfelder was not injured.
Truhan was cited for running the stop sign.
