Caleb Wagner, James McFadden and Kendra Shatzer are D.L. Martin Company’s September and October Employees of the Month.
October Employees of the Month
Wagner, of Williamsport, Md., is the company’s Employee of the Month for October. He is a CWB-Certified Welder in Building 4 who has been with the company for one year. His supervisor, Dakota Carmack, is the Operations Manager who has been with D.L. Martin Co. for six years.
Caleb suggested making a locating fixture to eliminate excessive labor. Every end plate of the fixture was manually measured when laying out machine bedplate weldments for the welding operation. The locating fixture eliminated that step.
The company also recognizes Dakota Carmack and John Miller for their suggestions implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in October.
September Employees of the Month
James McFadden, and his supervisor, Dakota Carmack, and Kendra Shatzer and her supervisor, Zach Farley, are September’s Employees of the month.
James, of Mercersburg, is a Machine Operator and Assembler and a 23-year employee. Kendra, of St. Thomas, is a Machine Operator and has 2 years of service. James supervisor, Dakota Carmack, is the Operations Manager and has been with the company for six years. Kendra’s supervisor, Zach Farley, is a Production Supervisor with 2 years of service.
To significantly reduce the amount of time it takes Machine Operators to remove slag buildup from slats on the Trumpf Lasers, James and Kendra suggested using an air chisel instead of a needle scaling gun.
